Red House Foods, who cater for the foodservice industry and major supermarkets, have just launched their own-label brand of gluten-free ready meals, Georgia's Choice. The first products in the range are the award-winning, nugget-sized Chicken Bites (winners at this years FreeFrom Food Awards) and burger-sized Chicken Grills.

They are both gluten and wheat-free, containing chopped and shaped chicken breast, and coated with a crumb made from maize flour and starch, potato starch, rice and gram flour, salt, disodium diphosphates, sodium bicarbonate, xanthan gum and dextrose. The crumb is really excellent – golden, crunchy and tasty – the chicken, which is sourced only from British Farms with a high standard of animal welfare, is abslutely fine – certainly on a par with, or better, than you would normally find in manufactured chicken products.

We found the bigger grills, not surprisngly, slightly moister than the 'bites' but to be honest, the only difference between Georgia's Choice and a standard chicken nugget or burger was that Georgia's Chioce were a lot nicer!

Georgia's Choice is currently available selected Asda and Tesco supermarkets. A 240g box of four Chicken Grills and a 300g bag of Chicken Bites both cost approximately £2.99.
