Provamel organic rice-coconut 'milk'
This milk is lovely. Provamel's organic rice-coconut milk has a coconutty aroma, and is sweet. It is low fat with no added sugar, and of course lactose and dairy free since it is a plant milk. The combination of coconut and rice milk is clever, with the milks tempering each other's strong flavours. We tried it at room temperature (and we liked it), and then we chilled it in the freezer and by gum, then there was talk of tropical swimming pools, cocktails, iced coffees, 'holiday' milks – even as the rain lashed down outside! We even thought it would be good with a tot of whisky (or Malibu... or Kahlua....) in it to warm the wintry cockles of our autumnal hearts. So really, a very versatile milk indeed.
it contains Italian rice, water, coconut milk and sea salt, and the strong coconut aroma definitely comes from the natural coconut flavour – not sure this is strictly necessary, but as we witnessed, it definitely gives the milk a tropical flavour!
