Sweet Mandarin dipping sauces

The Sweet Mandarin sauces are the latest venture in a family history of food creation which stretches back to 1910 and great grandfather Leung who was killed for his soya sauce.... Read all about it in their fascinating family history on their website.
Sweet Mandarin starting creating their dipping sauces in 1950, so over 60 years of family experience lies behind these three sauces: barbecue, sweet & sour, and sweet chilli. Current generation twin sisters, Helen and Lisa Tse opened their restaurant in Manchester in 2004, becoming the fourth generation in their family to make and sell food for a living. When their customers started to ask for the sauces to take home, the sisters launched Sweet Mandarin; when they expressed an interest in gluten-free sauces, they recreated them, gluten and MSG free.
The Barbecue was definitely our favourite - thick and spicy with lovely cumin overtones.
The Sweet & Sour is thinner, but with a great balance of flavours and, as suggested on the bottle, worked really well with spring rolls.
Sweet Chilli is quite mild – more sweet than chilli – but very nicely balanced and quite light.
All in all, really nice Chinese sauces – and we are delighted that they are not only gluten free but free of the dreaded MSG....
Available online for £2.80 for a 300mg bottle, plus P&P.
